The Photography workshops are structured to allow personal attention to the small groups by two instructors. New briefs are given for each new week with printed handouts. During week two Tracy Jay shares insights into aperture, shutter time and discusses the day’s location shoot.
Our students were out on location again yesterday, with an unusual challenge. Each being given words to interpret through the lens. A restricted area to 50 metres of the Gallery to find a perspective , using the design and technical skills they’re learning, and opening the heart to make an emotional response.

Session One for Curious Digital Photography
Week One
The morning went well with some discussion about the brief and then a location shoot nearby.
A few showers necessitated some umbrellas which turned to the students aesthetic advantage.

Comments from the CDP workshop open day:
“Open Day was fun! Tracy and Michael spoke about the values and outcomes of the workshop, and how their approach will be underpinned by Henri Cartier-Bresson’s great quote:
‘Heart, mind and eye need to be aligned’
A location shoot provided opportunities for us as students to be thoroughly engaged in the possibilities of light and composition”

On the move, Tracy was concentrating on interracting and documenting with the people and environment of Cambodia…snapping a precious moment…Tracy brought home a sense of poignancy & timelessness in her images.
See some of her Cambodian photography on the Curious Travels page
